Frequently Asked Questions
Some of the most common questions are listed below. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
How often are new websites selected?
There is currently no fixed schedule, however we aim to feature a new website from each category once every 5 days. Of course this is subject to change and may be adjusted at times.
Can I win more than once?
Of course! There's no limit to the number of times you can win as long as you continue to be involved.
How long do I keep my tickets?
You will continue to accumulate tickets until your website is featured, at which point your tickets will be reset to zero. As stated above, you'll continue to have the chance to be selected over time as long as you're involved.
How is this any different to a banner exchange?
Banner exchanges work on the principle that you must promote other websites at a greater level than they will promote yours. They use a ratio to determine how often your website banner is promoted on their site. For example, an exchange with a 3:1 ratio will display a banner on somebody else's site once for every 3 times you display theirs. Some also use popups or popunders to drive traffic, which can be very harmful to the quality of user experience on your site.
The Publicity Wheel uses a different concept. There is no ratio or use of popups/unders, and when you do become featured you are likely to achieve a large influx of quality visitors to your site without necessarily having to have promoted the same number of other sites in return. The Publicity Wheel is also designed to be a fun and unique experience that is not all about fixed figures.
Isn't this just a game of chance?
Yes and no. Your website will be selected at random, however you control how much of a chance you have. If you choose to actively participate in promoting featured sites, you will have a much better chance of being featured yourself than those who sign up and don't participate as actively.
How will a low-traffic site benefit from the Publicity Wheel?
It is important that low-traffic sites always have a great opportunity to win selection each round, and the selection process makes that much more possible than traditional banner exchange programs.
What will stop popular websites from dominating each round?
Popular websites with higher traffic are likely to achieve a higher number of tickets. However, in addition to the random selection process outlined above, tickets are reset to zero for winners whilst unselected users continue to accumulate tickets. This allows users who earn tickets at a slower rate to have an equal chance of winning selection over time.
In addition, we will be introducing new features to provide a boost in tickets for users with less popular websites. Stay tuned!
